Quick startSlack commandsTroubleshootingContact

Set up Veranda in a Slack channel

  1. In each Slack channel where the team wants to use Veranda, run /invite @Veranda once.
  2. React with the flag for the language you want: 🇯🇵 Japanese, 🇺🇸 English, 🇹🇼 Traditional Chinese, 🇨🇳 Simplified Chinese, 🇪🇸 or 🇲🇽 Spanish, 🇵🇭 Tagalog, 🇮🇩 Indonesian, 🇻🇳 Vietnamese, 🇹🇭 Thai, or 🇰🇷 Korean.
  3. Open the original message’s thread to read Veranda’s translation.

Veranda supports ten languages and must be a member of the channel before Slack can send it the reaction event.

Troubleshoot Veranda in Slack

No translation appears

Confirm that Veranda is a member of the channel, the reaction is on a human-written message, and the flag is one of the ten supported language flags listed above. Remove the reaction and add it again once.

A command is missing

Type /veranda in Slack and choose the command from autocomplete. If neither command appears, ask a workspace admin to confirm that Veranda is still installed.

The billing command rejects you

Only a current Slack workspace admin or owner can run /veranda-billing. Any workspace member can use /veranda-status.

The pilot has ended

Run /veranda-status to check whether the workspace reached its time or translation limit. Paid upgrades are not enabled during the current pilot; contact support for next steps.

What to include

To help us investigate, include your Slack workspace name, what you expected, what happened, and the approximate date and time. If available, include the Slack channel name and message timestamp.

Please do not email Slack message text, screenshots of confidential conversations, access tokens, passwords, API keys, payment information, or other sensitive content. We will ask for the minimum additional detail needed.

Response target

During the pilot, we aim to acknowledge support requests within two business days. Security or privacy issues are prioritized, but this target is not a service-level guarantee.

Install and uninstall

A Slack workspace admin must authorize installation. To remove Veranda, use Slack's app management controls and uninstall the app. Uninstalling revokes Veranda's Slack access; follow the Data Deletion Instructions if you also want remaining workspace metadata deleted.

Trial limits

The current card-free pilot ends after 14 days or 100 successful translations per workspace, whichever comes first. Paid upgrades are not enabled. If the trial ends while your team is actively evaluating Veranda, contact support to discuss the pilot rather than sending payment details.
